i am attempting to change the switch used to turn my computer on. i wanted to switch it from the standard push switch to a toggle switch. however, when i attempted to use the toggle switch the comp would turn but then turn off in about 2 seconds. i then noticed that the old switch was rated 8 amps at 250VAC and the new switch is rated 6 amps at 250VAC. is this why the comp turned off? or should the 6A switch be able to handle turning the comp on and off?
thanks,

Sounds like you have an ATX type computer, that type of computer uses a momentary switch for the power switch, not a continuous-on type.
