Is the athlon xp 2000 faster than the p4 2.0 512k cache?

The thing to remember, the AMD XP 2000 is actualy 1.6 ghz while the P4 2.0 is 2.0 ghz, yet the benchmarks usually show that AMD runs faster than the P4...

As a person who works on computers almost every waking hour, I inevitably get asked by friends and family for advice on which pc to buy, etc. It always annoyed me to no end when later they tell me they went in an opposite direction of the advice freely given, yet they still want my approval of their wonderfully new POS.

After suffering through this, and charging a premium to fix these POS, I do the following: I tell them that in order to consult with me on their PC purchase I will charge $150, $100 of which will be refunded IF they follow my advice. If in fact they do NOT follow my advice and go it on their own, I will absolutley NOT refund their money. In addition, on top of the already expensive labor/Parts prices I already charge, any PC they bring to me that was not recommended by me will be charged an additional $50-$100. Non-negotiable.
