Someone told me that I need to know how to get around the boot up password not the cmos. After all that I have told you above it always goes to enter password and after three times the system halts and you have to reboot. I hope this will clarify what I am trying to tell you

Personally I do not know if by clearing the bios will remove a password or not, but I do know that by removing the battery for 10 minutes will not clear the bios. There are capacitors charged up that holds voltage on the chip for a long time. I suggest that your remove the battery overnight...about 10-12 hours and try again.

You can take the battery out, and with a small screw driver or something simular, place a short on the contacts in the battery holder to discharge those capacitors. Even this may take severla minutes due to the circuit containing resistors ect, and you cannot put a direct short on the capacitors...so, if you try the shorting method, leave it on the contacts as long as possible, up to maybe an hour.

Be very sure the computer is unplugged from the household current while doing this.

Clearing NVRAM will always clear passwords. Some NVRAMs are designed to clear only if the system is booted with the jumper shorted. Some will only clear if the jumper is shorted (equivalent to what has been suggested about shorting the battery terminals) AND the ac power plug is disconnected from the wall. What type of motherboard is this?
