I just assembled a new PC using the latest SOYO P4S DRAGON ULTRA motherboard w/ Intel 1.7 MHz processor and 512 DDR (PC2100) memory. I did set up the BIOS and installed Windows XP. Everthing seems to be fine other then the following:
At the end of boot sequence it says the following:

" MAC Address in APC and EEPROM Failed.
Enter F1 to continue. Please Input Address Next time"

After that I have to enter F1 to complete the boot-up process and load Windows -XP.

Also when I exit windows with restart option, windows shuts down but the PC does not shut off and restart. The hard drive spin for 30-40 seconds then stops. But the PC doesn't shut down. It looks like the PC goes into the sleep(?) or suspend(?) mode. I then have the turn off the PC with the power button and then restart the PC with power button again. The same thing seems to be happening when I push the reset button. (THe PC does not shot off and restart after I push the reset button).

Another related problem is that sometime the PC does not start or gointo bootup after I push the power. Hard disk spins for a while and then stops. After this happens, I turn of the power and push power button again and it works fine.

If you have any comments, ideas let me know. Thanks.

If yourt motherboard has onboard LAN, go into the BIOS and disable it.

In an AMI BIOS it can be found in "Features Setup".
In an Award BIOS it is usally found in "Advanced Configuration".

It may also be setup to be used as a boot device which is possible. Check to see that "Network" or "LAN" is not in the boot order.
