WebCam problems

I bought an webcam and I have the following problems, the picture quality is horrible there are distruptions like from static, however when I bought it, they had the same camera on the display and the picture was exellent, no lag no static..perfect, what can cause the problem???

Two things come to mind right away...
1) Check your connections.
2) What are your system specs?

system specs. are abitkt7raid tbird800 geforce2gts 32mb 128pc133mushkin, connections are solid

How many progy's do you have running in the background using up resources? Check out Ctrl + Alt + Delete. If you have unecessary programs running then you can have them controled in msconfig.

what bothers me the most is the picture quality, I get those lines like on TV when reception is failing (not snow)

hmm.. try wiggling the cable while watching your screen, or try another USB port. Looks like you might have a defective camera if the port is ok.
