Hello
Can anyone offer any advice please?

Brand new I-Will XP-333-R with 512MB Crucial RAM, single stick, Athlon 1GHz, BIOS 18 Jan 2002.

POSTs ok and shows 512MB RAM but if I cold or warm reboot after 5-10 minutes, RAM registers as 384 or 256MB. Have tried a second single 512MB stick and it behaves the same. Tried different DIMM sockets and permutations of 1GB in 2 of 3 slots. All seem to do the same.

Also, the system hangs occasionally when rebooted, displaying a cmos checksum error message.

When rebooting from cold with 1GB RAM, XP-Pro startup bluescreens saying BIOS is not ACPI compliant.

I've reseated the RAM, flashed the BIOS to Jan 2002, reset CMOS, changed the CMOS battery, removed and reseated the BIOS chip, you name it!

If anyone has any additional advice I'd be grateful.

Thanks in advance

What do you have the memory voltage set too for your board? You could try upping it slightly, but ony if you are willing to risk it (should be OK with crucial memory, they are normaly preaty good).

Welcome to SYSOPT.......

I have an IWILL 333XP-R and I'm think I going to get rid of it. Two of my friends have been through 4 of these boards. Mine is starting to freeze up and takes a long time to reboot.

Would I buy another one ....NO !!!!!!

I'm looking at the GIGABYTE 7DXR+.

Sorry i can't help you with your problem here, just wanted you to know what your in for.

Good Luck
