Hello, is it possible for RAM to be bad?? I went out and got a stick of 64 meg, PC100 for my Linxu box. I slap her in, but it wouldn't work with the 32 that was already there, so i took the 32 out, slapped it in my T-Bird and it's all good... an houre later my firewall crashes??/ what!? so i go look... and linux is F#$@ed. It's taken a long time to get that box workign just the way i want it... now it's gone. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

Could it be bad ram that caused this, or is it just a random crash?? The message was an error about Read/Write Mismap...

I put back in the original 32 ram, and it booted... but tons and tons of error messages on the way.. it's struggeling. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif I think she's gona have to visite the ICU.

thanx

Have you check the hard drive? It sounds to me like a hard drive failure.

Just a thought.

Since putting the old ram back in, it's been working fine since... with the 64 it wouldn't run more than an houre without a crash.
