My re-occuring problem is with fonts going bad
(get listed in reg that way) & then square fonts
showing up all over my desktop, browser, etc...
I realize Windows is subbing those square symbols for the unavailable "bad fonts". I'm running W95B, with a K6-2/400 in a PhotonHC, & a AIW pro/8mb/PCI. This is my backup PC, I'm not overclocking.

I've disabled Video/Sys Bios caching & Write Combining. Lowered my refresh rate (to 75) & upped my CPU voltage slightly (to 2.3v). These *all* seemed to help a bit. Changing Video drivers does not effect this...even happens with "Standard Display Adapter(VGA)".

I suspect it's a timing issue between my CPU & mainboard. Never did this with my old P233MMX. I've installed the AMD K6 update & latest BIOS (v1.9). I usually have to delete those "bad fonts" reg entries & reinstall those fonts. Seems to happen after PC has been running awhile.

When I bought an Epox MVP3G for my main PC & swapped it for the Photon (without re-formating) the problems went away.

Now I'm trying to get that doorstop running again for the hell of it, all works fine (mostly) except for that pesky font corruption problem...

So anyway my question is: Has anyone else seen that font corruption, particularly with an overclocked CPU? Anyone able to track down the cause? Even tho I never o/c'd the Photon, it always acted like I was. I did a search at M$
about this, to no avail & I'm not real knowledgeable about fonts. So any leads would really help! TIA http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I was having a similar problem with fonts used on internet sites with my old system a P 133. After upgrading to a AMD 350 and new mobo things seem to be better. I don't notice anything wrong like I did.

Hope this helps.
