i am having problems with this computer. somebody deleted files and thought it was a game and it wasnt. this is the message the computer gives me. e.g., c:\windows\emm386.exe is missing or corrupted line 2 config.sys is missing or corrupted

setver.exe config.sys line 6
cdrom\mtmcdai.sys line 9

type the name of the command interpreter (e.g., C:\windows\command.com)

what does this mean and how do i fix it.

Re-Install windows.

go to dos. at the prompt enter:
edit config.sys
re entering the name of the
command interpreter enter
c:\dos
re emm386 missing or corrupt, you need
to get a copy of it to copy onto your
c drive. if you get emm386 on a floppy
enter from the c prompt:
copy a:\emm386.exe

one more idea:
your boot disk should have a good copy of
config.sys and command.com on it.
