I have a pair of Benwin GX-6 http://www.benwin.com/49gx6spec.htm there flat panel speakers. About a month ago the sub start to not kick in. And now i have to wack it hard in the back of the sub to get it to go on, but then it just dies again. If there isn't any low signals in the music coming out of my SBLIVe card then it doesn't work, occasionaly it will kick on but only for a second. And the sound from flat panels without a sub isn't that great. Can anyone help? PLEASE!!!

oooooohhh...that's too bad http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif
I think the amp is dieing (or dead already). How old is it? If it is under warrant - and you have the reciept - you should get it replaced or fixed. How much did they cost?

TOO Much Warthog. 100 something. THere not even 5 months old. I love heavy bas, so i use to play it with a lot of bass pumping out, but i though it should last longer than this. I think i still have the reciept. But i think i'm just going to hook my comp up to a 100 watt luxman pre-amp and play it though that and a pair of EPI 6012 speakers. THere old but will kick *** for my dorm room. each speaker has 5 woofers and 3 tweeters. HAHAHA
It sounds to me like the symptom of a "cold" solder joint. If you are not familiar with soldering, find someone who is, open it up and tickle connections with a non-conductive probe. Techs use orangewood sticks for this, but a toothpick also will work. If a joint is found that clearly causes the sound to come and go, shut down and "sweat" it while adding a little new solder. I hope this helps.

Yeah i started to take it apart but after i take out all the screws its like glued down to the base too, and it was a ***** to pull off so i said forget it and put the screws back in, but i'm thinking it is something like a loose conection, I hope. Thanks for the info Roy

I LOVE BASS!! I have a 15" Klipsch subwoofer (the biggest they make). Went from 10" to 12" to 15" in a month just trying to find the perfect subwoofer http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Good luck!

LOL http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif In addition to the space, you will also need $600, depending on how good of a customer you are to your local electronics store dealer (me - $519) http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Glad you got it back to working condition http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Rice Boy - yes it is a very, very good woofer http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif. Also, a very big woofer http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif (60lbs). I have a pair of Boston Acoustics bookshelf speakers that I got with it. It is the CR-6 model: 5 1/4" woofers (7lbs each). They sound excellent!
Anyhew, happy house shaking http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
