motocross mania locks up

Hi I am new here and just started gaming on my pavilion 6630. I have upgraded memory to 256 and installed geforce2mx this was all done by a friend that seems to know what he is doing because I do not:confused: he is gone now so I found this fourm in hopes to get some help as to WHY does this game lock up after two laps around the track?o : it will run fine and just freeze the picture and there is nothing I can do but shut off the power. Well I got that worked out by using the close program. but now when I am racing on the coastal run track thru the woods section it is jittery and slow to respond from steering comands.once past the trees its perfect WTF.:confused:

Sorry to tell you but the Geforce 2 MX is getting old. IS it the 32 or 64 sdram.


Try dropping the video card setting to default.

It is a 32mb. I got it free and was told that it was more than enough for this game. could you please explain the method to set to default, for this is all new to me. :confused:

yeah it should be enough. I had an old 4mb AGP video card. Forgot the brand. But it was running on a pentium II 300mhz and the game ran smooth. Motocross madness 2 was a little slower

Well than what is going on? is there some hz setting I should be on, right now I am at 800/600/16bit optimal.

What are the temps you are getting? You could be overheating.

Have you tried different drivers for your card?

well I finally figured it out. My tiny 10.2gb hard drive was stuff full of useless junk kinda like a house after 10 years so I did some spring cleaning with disk cleanup. I guess I should of checked with the wife first, but o well I am motocrossing now I knew it had to be something simple .:D
