M1pilot 12-02-2000, 10:07 AM Sound Blasters are most definitely compatible with socket or slot A m/b's, although they can be a bit tricky to set up sometimes. The SBlive for instance requires two IRQ's (one for SB16 emulation, if you need it), and this can cause some problems if you have a lot of devices. I have an ASUS A7V (socket A) m/b, and I've got my SBlive in PCI 3 using IRQ 3, with the emulator using IRQ 5. Works perfectly on my setup. -M1pilot Big244man 12-02-2000, 11:18 AM K man, thanks. We are upgrading our comp for Xmas, and I'm thinking about getting the same mobo as you have, is it alright? M1pilot 12-02-2000, 02:16 PM Yup, no regrets. The only thing lacking was an ISA slot (which I did'nt need anyways). Very high quality board, fast and stable. -M1pilot SysOpt.com
