I'm going to be purchesing a Plextor 12x10x32 internal scsi drive soon. And i would like to know what SCSI cards people that own this card have. I don't have any other scsi drives in my computer, and really don't intend on adding any, just an old external scsi scanner that i have. I've been intent on getting the Adaptec 2930 Ultra scsi card. Is this a good card for the plextor cd-rw or will it slow down the drive? Any and all input would be greatly appreciated

Hi Mike

I have the Plex 12/10/32S and I'm using a (used) Symbios Logic 875XSID, 2280X PCI SCSI Adapter. I am told the mfr is Yamaha.

I also needed a cable. The cable I'm using is from mfr 'Cable Connections', #S-68F50F-A, Internal SCSI III to SCSCI II Adapter.

This is the only SCSI drive/adapter I have in my system.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I have a Plextor 12/10/32 scsi. The controller card that I have is the Adaptec 39160, but that is because I have dual plextor's one that needs ultra support and then I am in the process of getting a ultra160 hard drive. The card that you want, adaptec 2930, should be good enough if you don't want to add anything else. The scsi drives for plextor cdrw is ultra, so as long as the card will work, it should be fine. Hope this helps!

I actually have my Plextor 12/10/32S running off an Adaptec 2930u and it works great. For just the burner it might be a little overkill if anything. I also have it running a Jazz drive. The card has an external connection for your scanner and comes with a standard 50 pin internal cable for your burner.
Happy burning.
