Hello. I was wondering whart the hazards are of running a mobo (probably for only a short period of time) without a cpu.

I was attempting to remove a Volcano hsf that was installed by the manufacturer. In doing so, I broke off the little tab that the hsf clips on to. Now I would like to run the box for short periods of time to see which of the seven fans are noisiest. Or, I guess six now that I'm attempting to replace the Volcano with a Cooler Master.

This box averages 80 dB, so I kinda want to quiet it down a bit.

i dont think it should harm the mobo. Just dont expect anything to show up on the monitor.

Well, I guess I waited to long to answer. But, you shouldn't harm anything.
