Hello all,

My computer game is choppy(mainly talking about return to castle wolfenstein since its my main shooting game.)

32MB ATI Rage Ultra 128
20GB hard drive
and Windows XP Proffesional

I think its my video card or RAM but tell me what you think.
it would be nice if i could get a lot so I can make my final choice on what to do.

All your advice Appreciated.

What programs are you running in the backround?

*sighs, then takes long breath* Reinstall DirectX 8.1, install latest 4in1's (I'm assuming you have a VIA based mobo), get latest drivers from ATI, put them in the recylcle bin cause they won't help, download latest omega drivers from http://www.omegacorner.com/ . Now tell me what happens. It is possible your vid card is to slow. Well actually it's very likely. I'd suggest upgrading to a GeForce2GTS $49 @ http://www.pricewatch.com or if you don't have an AGP slot going with a G400-450, a Radeon (they do come in PCI flavour, but I forget the name), or the GeForce2 MX PCI (aviod if possible).

Also if your copy of XP is a pirated version the chopyness is a common side effect from some copies.

And to tottaly tell you all my knowledge on all things choppyish, the omega drivers are something the dude at that website cooked up (I think). Any way they are a lot more stable then the ATI ones, though your 3dmark score does dip a teeny bit on some computers.

Definately your graphics card. Get something better - Radeon 8500 - it will revolutionise your gaming experience! (Without breaking the bank)
