This may be minor compared to the problems listed in this group but....
In Explorer 6.0 I cannot get the 'status bar' (selected from the 'VIEW' button on the top tool bar) to stay on. I select it but whenever a new window opens up, it is gone!

I have searched throughout the browser and the help section but found no mention of this feature.

Anyone know how to make it stick on??? Thanks!

Try opening one explorer only, add the status bar, then CLOSE the explorer. Now, open another explorer, does it have the status bar?

I am not sure what you mean by a "new window". I have IE6 and my status bar is always there. Even if I open up a 2nd window.
the only time there is no status bar is if the window is a pop up ad. Once you've gone in and selected "status bar" does it stay there until you close IE? Or does it disappear as soon as you change sites or open a 2nd window?

Do you have File, Edit, etc when you lose your status bar?

I have invoked the status bar in the browser with only one window open and then closed Explorer. Reopening it, I find the status bar present. I have tried this with numerous windows open and then I close them all. When I restart, the status bar is there.
However... when I either select a new window from the File menu OR from right clicking the mouse on a link to open a new window, OR whenever a script at a web page calls for a new window, THEN the status bar is not present.
I have not been able to find a switch to ALWAYS have the status window 'on'. I find it very important to have it since it indicates how the page is loading and what is loading.
Any other ideas?
Thanks for the help.
