I’ve a pcchips M598LMR equipped with a AMD-K6-2/450 MHz.
Sometimes, during startup of the system, this processor type is not realized and instead of the 450 MHz CPU a AMD-K6-2/150 MHz appears on the first video screen straight after the BIOS Version is displayed. This can happen several times after start up. When I’m lucky, the 450 MHz CPU is realized after switching the computer off and on for some times.
The AMIBIOS SETUP – CPY PnP SETUP is set as recommended in the manual. Switching from auto to manual does not change the strange behavior.

Any idea the how to cure that problem?

PCChips boards can be buggy - obviously the PnP BIOS for the CPU is not starting up with the right settings for the CPU.

Set the CPU setup to manual at 2.2v and 4.5 X 100 (don't know what the manual says). You could also replace your mb battery.
