BipolarBill 02-10-2002, 10:01 AM Don't bother. Install a Promise Ultra100 TX2. The drives will work at full speed and you will have access to max capacity. I doubt that the BIOS for that will allow anything larger that 8.4GB. cirishfoos 02-10-2002, 10:12 AM When I first got the computer it was at it's full capacity (20g) but since then, I had a main-boot record virusus. After dealing w/ that, I have not been able to return to my full capacity. Thanks for your advice- anymore would be appreciated. cirishfoos- BipolarBill 02-10-2002, 12:28 PM Try Zapping (http://www.storage.ibm.com/hdd/support/download.htm) the HDD. Zap will low-level format the first 128 sectors of the HDD and may allow full recognition afterward. What bothers me is that the drive's electronics are what normally report it's size - not the disk.
