Does anyone know the best sites to look for reviews on the different digital cameras and also explain the specs like aperture, shutter speed, etc? Any help is appreciated.

When I was shopping aroudn for digital cameras, I used the www.pricescan.com (http://www.pricescan.com) search engine. It would list the cheapest price (more reliable on searches than pricewatch when looking for a specific brand or model), and it will also show you a picture and people's reviews (for most digital cameras I looked at).

Had a detailed review of the one I was considering.
Ended up buying the Casio QV3000EX/Ir, the Ir bit is only for europe I think.
If you are interested my reasoning was as follows...
Must have CF memory (sm are too delicate, Sony can charge what they like for memory(no competition))

Must have a decent optical zoom

Must be 2Mpixel minimum

That whittled it down to about 5 (in my budget)

The Casio won 'cause it will take CFII cards, that includes the IBM microdrive (340M or 1G), easily the cheapest memory.
Found a shop locally (part of a large chain), offering camera and microdrive for £649 ($920), the drive alone is £266 ($380).

Need lots of memory. No point in taking low res., you can crop a photo down, reduce the file size, do all sorts to a good quality image, but if you take 640x480 (eg) there is not a lot you can do. With image size of c. 1M thats a lot of photos, enough space for a fortnight away from the pc.
