Looking for free chess download. Something I can put on puter to kill time with.

Something not loaded with spyware.

I like ChessRalley2 that was fun although it does have a expire date. You can find it at www.download.com.

i used to play chess online @ fics (free internet chess server)
as it say's it's free.. some very good chess player there. all by rating..fast chess and slow games you pick them you also can watch other's play chess games. great site i need to get my **** back there and play again! it's @ www.freechess.org

Online is the way to go.. test your skills against other players.

I got an account with Yahoo (http://www.yahoo.com) and played the online games there. you will need to have java support for your browser though (most do now).

Sorry don't know any downloads.
