Gigabyte.
As far as performance I'm sure they are fairly close. However, just going by the brand name I'd say Gigabye. I've heard a lot of stories about ECS being a great value. But GB has made solid boards for years. Just a personal perference really.

The K7S5A is basically a budget board with good performance.
It comes with the SiS 735 chipset which at the time outranked ALi Magik 1 based boards (Asus A7A266), KT133A boards, and KT266 boards, not the KT266A.
SiS however, is not made for overclocking. The original bios only allowed 100/133 or 133/133 intervals. The newer one allows 150+ settings, but getting that high is rare.
AMI BIOS is OK too, not as many frills as user friendlyness as Award based boards, but people have said that AMI BIOS based boards boot faster in XP then Award based ones (just a rumor??)
I plan on getting the K7S5A and ocworkbench.com has made an excellent FAQ forum based it. Just go to http://www.ocworkbench.com and drop into the ECS 2002 forum.
Have fun! :D
