Ok, I have a Diamond Supramax 56i Voice PCI V.92. That's what it's called in the Modem Properties. I've noticed various ad's stating that it supports V.92, but I can't find anything On Diamond's website saying it does. Any way to tell?

If Windows says so, it is.

SUP2751 I guess ? Then yes, it's V.92. The SUP2750 is V.90.

Looks like Diamond (Sonic Blue now) isn't aware this modem was made. Kinda funny.

Funny...as good and as popular as Supra modems are, you would think that Sonic Blue would pay some attention to them. Better yet, they should sell off the division to a company that cares and has some sort of plan.

Yep, 2751. Thanks guys. You bring up a good point. Support does seem to be lacking. You don't suppose it's because Diamond just got rid of them like they did with monster sound card. Or that Sonic Blue just aquired them. The modem is terrific, you would think somebody would want to take credit.

Here's a brief history of Supra:

Bought by Diamond Multimedia in ~1996

Diamond Multimedia buys Micronics motherboards and slowly strangles it. ~1997

S3 video buys Diamond MM. ~1999

S3 goes limp and bankrupt. ~2000

The Diamond name somehow survives and, incredulously, the company decides to change the name to something unrecognizable - Sonic Blue ~2000

No further development is perceptible to this date.

------------------------------------------------

Compare this to it's main rival in 1996 - a company called Creative Technologies.

Yes, this modem is really good and reliable (the 2750 also was, the two are identical, I suppose the V.92 change was made inside the main chip), and much less sensitive to line noise than USR and Motorola.

The only con I found out is the dial/hang lag, where your pc freezes for half a second.
