Plextor CDRW light blinking

this is my problem..my plexwriter 12/10/32A flashs a yellow light constantly from the time the computer gets power(even before POST its flashing) also it won't eject, its jumpered correctly as master on IDE2 with my DVD jumped as slave.
i've tryed a new ATAcable and power plug, no dice.
weird thing is that windowsXPpro says its installed and fuctioning properly with no conflicts.same with Via IDE tool.
the plextor site says the drive is probably fried but it was working great before i installed my new soltek board

Is there a disk in it? If you don't know, get a large paper clip and stick it in the "weep hole" in front. There may be a bad disk in there.

ya i had to put a paper clip in to get it open but there is no disk inside

I have problems with my Plextor 12/10/32S with respect to ejecting. Even if I push the eject button it will not eject. However, the one way that I can eject is using the audio-copying program Feurio Pro. You can get the non-professional version as a free download. Click on Feurio CD-Manager’s or Feurio CD-Writer’s eject button. That may be all you need to do. If this fails may be it has had it.
