COMPAQ BIOS Setting I must have tried the instructions from the compaq user's manual a hundred times but for the life of me I can't get to the BIOS Settings of this Presario 4122. I wanted to disable the onboard video and sound card so i can upgrade them.

Is there any other way of doing this? please HELP!!!!!

If memory serves me right it should be the F10 button to get into the BIOS setup on Compaqs.

If your using a usb keyboard, usb for keyboard may not be enabled in the BIOS, and for this reason you may not be able to access the BIOS. If this is the case, you have to hook up a ps-2 keyboard which will respond to the key(ie. F10) which will get you into BIOS to enable usb for keyboard. Then your usb keyboard will take over.
This is all speculative of course. I'm assuming that you tried all the keyboard keys to get you in with no success.

Press F10 when you see the flashing cursor in the upper right corner.

Did you try it with Userservers instructions??
If that didn't work post back here. How old is that Compaq??
I seem to remember that some of the older Compaq's had the "BIOS" config. stored on a sep. partition on the hard drive and not on a BIOS chip.
Post back and let us know.
