This is my first attempt at this DSL thing and my servvice is scheduled to be turned on friday. I have called tech support and it is ready to go when they hit the switch! (cant Wait) my question is hooking up another system. I was told I need to get a hub and a long cable( obviously), However my concern is file sharing, I definitly dont want to share my files with any other system. What do I need to do regarding this.

I am running Win ME.

Thanks for replys!

Just DON'T install file and print sharing for Microsoft networks, and you won't be sharing.
For ICS (internet connection sharing) for only 2 PC's you can use 2 NIC's (10BaseT)and a crossover cable, but if you want to add another computer later or have a more flexible configuration you should go with a hub and 2 NIC's and a regular cable (CAT5).
Also check out this page for security with your network bindings.

Other security notes:
Update your ME with all security patches from Windows update and also your browser.
Get a Personal Firewall like ZoneAlarm!
