Hello everyone,
My new Soyo Firewire PCI card is not working properly.
I emailed Soyo tech support but never received any helpful response. And I called a few times but always got their recorded messages. I waited and waited but there were no signs of human beings.
My question is: Is this normal? Should I keep trying? Is there any other way to get their help? Should I dump the card and move on?
I would appreciate very much for your advices.
Thank you for your time.
Regards,

It seems everybody is having problems with motherboard manufacturers now, it could be that the downturn in the economy has caused big layoffs at the head quarters. Some mainboard manufacturers have always been slow, like FIC...now its non existant. Soyo used to be very good about responding quickly, and very helpfull, kept on working with you until the problem was solved...so, I am dismayed now to learn that Soyo has also joined the ranks of the non supporters.
You say you called them...did you try the help tech number?..or did you try the number for customer support?...many times when you get nowhere with the tech help emails or telephone, calling the customer support will get things going your way.
Wish you luck.

Thanks for your thoughts, Bovon.
I guess I will have to get a new card.

Good Luck getting any response from Soyo. I e-mailed their support department several times many months ago to get what I felt was a simple answer to a question as to whether or not my particular motherboard supported a certain type of processor. (Their web site was ambiguous, depending on version, etc.) I never did get a response. And Soyo will never sell me another motherboard. At least MSI is pretty clear about what you can and can't install in their boards on their website. Good luck getting any direct support from any motherboard manufacturer these days.
