Is there a difference between cdrw?

Let's say all where 12X write with burnproof. All I care about is that I don't make a coaster and that it supports all the formats it needs to support. Is there any brands I should stay away from? Or are they all pretty much the same.

Plextor, Yamaha and Sony are good choices but they aren't all 12x with burnproof, Yamaha has a 16/10/40x. Most of the buffer underruns at high _x are caused by the source, if you're making audio compilation cd's, use a rom with high digital audio extraction or write to your hdd first. Even the Plextor drives with burnproof will have to pause for data if the source is slow, slowing the _x value.
