games like street rod

hey...

When i was young my favourite game on my old XT 4 colour computer was a great old skool street racing game called street rod.
This game u can doo ya cars up and race them for drags or pinkslips, this is a real classic race car game and i really love it.
Recently i got a copy of street rod 1 and 2 off the net and they kept me ammused for 8 hours straight even wif the crappy graphics and the pc beeper that i had to extend to hear over my noisy case.
And i was wondering if there are aney newer games wich have the same approach to Street racing wif the drags and pink slips and all the engine rebuilding and everythink like that.

i have tried games like viper racing wich is similr but i love the drag racing and the starting out wif a bomb and working ya way up to the king wif ya l337 corvet.

I thought I saw a Game called NHRA Drag Racing at Bust Buy. I don't know the details but you might try that. Or do what I did. Buy a '70 GTO slowly fix it up, and while doing take it to the track every Friday night to run it. I got down to 12.5 in the 1/4 milewith street tires. But alas it was to expensive I put 4.56 Gears in it and being my daily driver I went brojke fast. Cause of the gears and top street speed that is sustained speed 42 Mph, plus it got about 4-5 miles per gallon. But boy she was fast, ugly but fast. I ain't a body man so I never got around to making it look pretty.

yer i am 16 and got my L's atm and want to get a vl commodore or really supe up my family's ford xf falcon series 2. but the power steering is very sloppy and the engine has got NO get up and GO. :-(

still Cant decide, but i want it to go fast down the quater mile.
the bloke at work has convinced me to maby concider a small jap car cos they are cheaper to run and their incrdible power to weight ratio...but mate i aint to keen on the little rice burners.

Check out Need for Speed Motor City Online!!!

It's like a revamp of the old street rod game, except you are in a multiplayer environment, with other real people who are buyin/collectin/winnin pink slips at the races/drags etc..

Custom Paint jobs etc.....

I have to agree with you Street Rod did kick ***. I actually only played the second one.

anyways, check out Motor City Online, the only downside is you have to pay for an online account on a per month basis.

I personally don't like the Pay if you wanna play after i already bought the goddamn game story.

yer the online game sounds good but my folks are real strick mif my 56k internet that i get to go on 2 times week for 4 hours before my isp kicks me off :-(

but yer thanks for the idea's

and my neibour hs a civic and it is ok ......but aint got the kw...lol i give my neibour soo much hass bout his civic concidering they traded a forx XR8 for it ....bloody stupid if u ask me...

still going for the vl commodore or the xf falcon

EV- No problem. Sorry it took so long to reply but things get nuts around here. Then on top of it I started case modding yesterday at 3:00 PM and didn't stop till 11:30 AM Today. But I did get everything exept 1 small mod done that I've been planning/putting off forever. Anyhow take care I hope those games work out for ya.

MotorCity Online is quite fun according to your terms of likeness to Street Rod, but it's expensive on the long run. Costs 10$ a month to play and the game is not cheaper than any other (at least here).

Hey Ev ever checked out the honda civic? Thats a hot car.

Come on, what can you do with barely 100hp on 4 cylinders that sound like a chainsaw ?
