in the book "upgrading to windows 2000" it speaks about symetric multiprocessing ... (i'm not ready to get into this book ... just interesting reading) ... anyway ... it talks about supporting up to 16 processors with clean installation or 32 processors via upgrade.
i have seen lots of boards that take two processors ... so are all 16 or 32 processors on one motherboard ? if so .. where do i get me one of them ? if not ... how are they connected ?
thanks

I don't know about pc motherboards, but in the mainframe world, they have 16 processors on a board that is a little bit bigger than a video card. It is amazing how the technology has shrunk in size. I know IBM markets an intel board in their mainframe processors to support Windows 2k. Your talking about some big bucks though. I think you can get one of these for around $20,000 US dollars. Not sure on the exact price. Check out IBM's site.
