i have the spacewalker ak 31 ver .3.1 ( kt 266 a ) . today i installed the bios version ak31s9e8 and the system works fine without some strange lock ups i had with the exact previous version . i think it would be a good idea for all the guys out there with the same compination to do so .
if someone has remarked that already it would be good to know to support this little thought .

I have read about this happening before. It appears that when a bios code is written, tested and placed in a chip to go into a new board, sometimes that code is flawed just a little. Maybe a dot or something else was omitted. When this is discovered, the code is corrected for all boards after this, and the bios is placed at the site for download without ever mentioning that an earlier version was flawed. Usually, to be correct, the bios version will be changed to reflect a corrected bios code, but this is not always done...and people find out as you did, that there was something wrong with the code in the origional chip.
A bios code can be altered inservice by static charges corrupting all or part of the coding.
