i was going to buy a kt7 but am now looking at the RAID model as well.anyways i know the striping option would be faster but is it really worth it to online game, use flash, surf, and burn cds?or should i just stick to the one without raid support?

get the non-raid board. then if you decide you need raid or more ide ports buy the add-on card for $30 (the same as the price difference), or buy an Ultra SCSI card (at the same price) and get all your CD related hardware in SCSI (That is if you need more IDE ports, think of SCSI for the same cost but far better performance)

RAID depends on your needs. Usually it's used for better performance in reading data but for usual functions of gaming, etc. that is in my opinion not necessary.

Why not get the raid? In most cases the difference is only $10.

I've got a KT7-Raid and love it! I'm using 4 30.7gig ATA-100 IBM hard drives and lemme tell you, they're pretty quick. It is also great because even after installing 4 HDs I have room for 4 othe IDE devices (I have zip250, 16x dvd, plexwriter 12x, and room for one more). Well I reccommend!

Hi

I agree with Over Clocked.
I have a Promise FastTrak66 with 4 IBM 22Gxp (9Gb, 7200rpm, 2MB cache) and I have space for a DVD, a CD and a LS120...

So, go for it !!!
