Quake 2 Demo Problem w/ Win XP

Hi....
I`m trying to install the Quake 2 demo on my Dell Dimension 4300 Pentium 4 PC running Win XP. When I run the install it stopps and gives me the following message:

Can`t run 16-bit windows program
The path c:\windows\desktop\quakw2~\splash\..\install\setup .exe is invalid

Does anyone know what to do about this?

Try right-clicking the setup.exe file and selecting Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab and select Win98 compatibilty.

I've seen this problem before with bad CDs and/or bad CD drives, BTW. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the drive.
