We're always hearing of different CD burning software. Here's one for $25.00 , any users ??

HotBurn is a CD-burning utility that, with its easily navigable interface and detailed help documentation, will have even a newcomer to the CD-writing game burning data and audio CD-R and -RW discs with confidence. Simply click on the Data CD button to transfer files and folders to a CD, the Audio CD button to write audio files and tracks to a CD, the CD Copy button to make a copy of a CD, or the System Test button to perform system tests on your CD-ROM or CD-RW drive. Audio CDs can be created from MP3 files, as well as files using other supported audio formats such as WMA, WAV, AIFF, and CDA; Digital Audio Extraction (DAE) is even available with supported drives. HotBurn can perform non-interactive read tests that test the throughput of system hard drives as well as the digital audio extraction speeds of CD-ROM and CD-R/RW drives.

I use Hotburn exclusively, because it came bundled with my Sony burner. I have absolutely no complaints about it. It does everything I've asked it to do, and has done it well. The navigation is really quite good. With that said, I'm in no position to compare it to other prgrams, since I have no little or no experience with the other ones. I'd recommend d'loading a demo if they have one and trying it out.

I have used it extensively and it won't backup your system. It does cover a lot of customization of your CD features though. Most Excellent program. Set your buffer amount, your speeds and create data and music cd's called "Create An Advanced CD". I never did find any way to span though which is why I never purchaced a burner up until now. I got the HP 9350i which does have the capability of System backup and spanning.

See this thread for the Overview:

Cheers!

Edit: With the Hot Burn program it is really important that you defrag before a burning session. It's in the documentation.

I use Sony Hotburn also on an external cdrw with a usb connection. It does work very well for data transfers but I have a continuing problem with creating audio cds. Every time I transfer a file manualy or with the wizard the file loads as only being a few seconds long. I check the file size in the folder where it is stored and the length of the track in the jukebox which seem to be correct. Im puzzled by what is going on. Im creating the files as mp3 160kbs and the tracks play fine in the jukebox.
Any suggestions?
