win2k, I am logged in as Admin.
Anyway, Open Explorer, Tools Menu, Folder Options...File Types Tab. Choose Folder, click advanced tab. The Edit... and Remove buttons are disabled. New... and Set Default aren't. This may be fine and dandy, but some doofus (me) made a bogus entry and would like to remove.
Any help?
Are you saying that you made a new entry of extension? If that's the case, you can just go to the "File Types" tab and select the extension you want to remove and and click on the "Delete" button... The ones where the Remove buttons are disabled because you haven't associated the file type to any applications. You need to asscociate it to an application to enable the the greyed out buttons..

Mines ok.
But I did notice that, depending which file was highlighted, the options did vary in the advanced tab area.
Click on another file in the list, then advanced and see what you get.

I'm saying:
"Open Explorer, Tools Menu, Folder Options...File Types Tab. Choose Folder, click advanced tab. The Edit... and Remove buttons are disabled. New... and Set Default aren't. "
So I am not adding an extension or file type, just creating an action for a given File Type, in this case 'Folder'. The Folder file type has an extension of 'N/A', btw.
Get to the folder options applet File Types Tab, click on the File Types heading to sort and find Folder, Highlight, Click Advanced button.
Now, I understand some buttons may be disabled because they just don't apply to certain actions.
But, if I can add an action(new button), it should logically follow that I should be able to delete or edit this action, which I cannot.
