I have a problem with a new installation of Win2k (my first). After completing the installation my cd-rom stays busy. I have tried two drives; a Shuttle 506 and a Samsung 830 and experienced the same problem. This makes it very difficult to install software
:-). Eventually, the system will hang when rebooting and the HD FAT will be corrupted but fixable with 2nd copy.
Memory tested with x86 Memtest for 13+ hours without a failure. WD diagnotic passes the "short" and "long" test flawlessly.
The MB is a Soyo SY-7is2, with Rage 128 Pro VDA & I/O magic Sound Card. HD is WD10AA.
This is the second configuration I have tried. The first was a PC-Chips all in one MB (Sound, Vda, Modem etc) that I replaced because of THE SAME PROBLEM.
Can anyone help?
