I am not an Athlon expert but have been researching for a future upgrade. I would recommend the Asus or Abit Athlon boards. The reason is, if you try to save money on a motherboard and buy a cheaper mobo, you usually end up regretting the $30-40 you save in the long run. Save money elsewhere.

The Abit KT7 and KT7 RAID are excellent choices, as are the Asus A7V models.

The 750 T-bird is an excellent overclocker. I assume that might be a reason for purchasing it. If you look at the t-bird 750's on www.overclockers.com, (http://www.overclockers.com,) you will see that the only ones that have huge success are the Asus and Abit driven T-birds.

Hey
I'm shopping around for a new motherboard myself, to go with one of the Thunderbird processors( replacing ASUS P2B , Pentium II-350MHz ).
So far I have narrowed it down to the Asus A7V and the ABIT KT7-RAID motherboards. Both are excellent boards.Yea, they are kind of costly but why buy cheap on such a major component.

Cool I'll browse for the Asus and Abit prices. I wanted to get a barebones kit with and ATX a good mobo (most important) and then whatever cash is left will decide the cpu speed hopefully atleast 650mhz thunderbird. i will overclock it but just a bit stability is most important. so tell me if you guys see anything good for a good price i have been browsing pricewatch and finding some stuff. you guys know any other good site? my price limit is like $275

asus is the mobo co that gets the most
compalints at motherboards.org.
a search for "asus wont boot" at
deja produced 800 matches. but
I guess if it comes with a warrantee
you cant go wrong with either asus or
abit. but the abit kt7 raid is best
in MANY reviews.
epox and tyan are good mfgrs too.
PCchips and azza are brand x, like
getting a daewoo or kia car.
