We finally got some more bandwidth so I decided to start hosting ISO downloads again. I currentlly only have Mandrake 7.2 on there, as well as some other various applications, but I hope to be adding more soon.

I was hoping it would be faster. They added dual OC-3's this past weekend. It appears that the upload is about twice as fast as the download, which isn't great for me, but is good for everyone else.

Thanks a bunch, bdog.

I just set up VMware and was hoping to get the new Mandrake to try out on it. It worked great. Pretty good d/l speed, too. I was averaging 35+kbs. Thanks again.

Hmmm, "bdog". Is that short for Big Dog?

I haven't seen linux in action, but I've been wanting to try it. I don't know where to start. Is there a way to partition and create a dual boot system without starting fresh?

darrelld,

Check out VMware at www.vmware.com (http://www.vmware.com) . Once you have vmware installed, you can run Linux or any other OS inside it. One thing, though. You have to have Windows NT or Windows 2000. Otherwise, you'll have to get some partitioning software like Partition Magic to clear space on your hard drive for a dual-boot setup. Some versions of Linux come with Partition Magic. Good luck. And remember, there's plenty of folks here to help out.
