What is the best way to reinstall notepad. My wife had a virus attached to note pad in her computer. Part of Nortons fix was to remove notepad from her system. Now the virus is gone and so is notepad. I have never installed a single program from an operating system install disk and am unsure how to reinstall notepad. Her computer is a Dell Dimension XPS T700r running Win 98 2nd edition. Could use a few suggestions before I make a mess of her computer. Please be as detailed as possible, im no expert at this.
Thanks

You can download the 100%virus free version of notepad from My website http://www.geocities.com/voogru and head on to files and its the right on top!

If this was the QAZ virus, it renamed notepad.exe to note.com and put its program as notepad.exe and inserted a startup registry entry. You can rename note.com back to notepad.exe. You'll also have to remove the registry entry that was added to start up the virus. Its documented in the Norton site.
Good Luck.
