I recently bought a generic CD-RW drive for my PC. After an initial satisfactory test with the installer, subsequent CD copies all contain a very audible 'tic' sound between tracks. You can detect a snippet of a song from the source CD (next song, previous song - I am unsure) in the split second 'tic'.

This annoying occurence also causes probems with my home stereo as it simply stops playing the copied CD after each track ends (my car CD player, a Sony Xplod, plays the copied Cd straight however the 'tic' sound is ever present).

I've tried numerous experiments (e.g. extending 'second lapses' between tracks) and numerous adjustments to the options configurations but nothing changes.

Please help.

Are you copying directly from one cd to another? If so, I would recommend you rip the audio onto your hard drive as wav files first, the burn it onto a cd. Most cd burning software has a 'disk st once' option. Use this and it will eliminate the 'tics' between tracks.

Thank you for the advice. The prob with the PC is limited memory which makes disk to disk copying my only option for now.

I'll try to locate the option you mentioned before trying again (I'll use a CD-RW disc as I go along).

Thanks again.

(Sigh) no luck. I actually re-installed the re-writer program and while the tic seems less, it remains.

Any other suggestions (from anyone)

Try Roxio Easy CD Creator. It has a very good music-CD creation program.
