I'm trying to install an Epson 1650 scanner on my Athlon system running Win 98se. I Installed the Epson twain software succesfully. I then plugged the scanner in via USB via my 4-port hub.

Basically, nothing works. If I try to import from scanner in Photoshop it tells me it can't open twain source and to check my scanner has a valid source in the Windows twain directory.

I've unloaded USB of all my other stuff and re-installed software - no change. Where do I go next? How do I check if my scanner has a valid source?

Help please,

Graham

Kinda sounds like driver problems, but maybe not. Go to the following web site and read about USB and Win98SE problems.

Thanks, but I just got it solved. Stupid USB hub problem.

Ah well, it all works now.
