I recommend the 17" Samsung with .20 dot pitch .. plus it has a 3 yr warranty ... sounds like a deal 2 me. The price might B a tad high but probably in the ballpark.

Yeah, I'd also say to go for the Samsung, they usually get good reviews.

we have a couple of CTX 21"ers at work, they are alright, but after a while of being on the screen gets a slight "wobble" type thing happening, this can be fixed by pressing the degause button tho (makes the screen wobble heaps then clicks back into place, i dunno exactly what it does but it works). After hitting the degause button its solid as a rock again. They are both running on matrox G400 cards, 1600x1200x32 when i use em and 1152x864x32 when other people are using them (i prefer the higher res, they prefer bigger stuff). I havent used a samsung so can't comment on it really.

They appear to use the same Trinitron, and both are reputable brands. There is some posibility the CTX is OEM'd by Samsung.

I prefer the more precise resolution toward the sides that you get with shadow mask tubes.
