Ok, i was watching DVD two days ago and now whatever app i run it gives me some kind of message that I'm missing software decoder, MPEG2 files and such.

Win 98, ASUS (Nvidia) V7100 Mx200 card, System reports seeing DVD, apps recognise TS_Video folder. I was using ZOOM player and FusionSoft.

I tried reinstalling Win, updating drivers, DirectX, but all to no avail.

Any idea what i'm missing?

Depending on how badly you would like your old DVD software player back, you could just get a whole new program. I bought my Toshiba 12/40 OEM which didn't come with a DVD decoder. So, I just hopped on Morpheus (or Kazaa) and searched software for PowerDVD. This is about a 12mb dl but is pretty quick. Upon installation you are prompted to enter a code which is handily displayed on the opening screen, so be sure to write it down before you pass it or you'll have to go back. Follow the steps and bingo! You got yourself a new dvd decoder.
