I bought a Seagate ATA IV 40 GB recently. It works fine and very quiet. I heard that disabling the SBT (Sound Barrier Technology) the overall performance will increase. The Seagate site reffers to an AAM (automatic acoustic management), bit i haven't found any utility to disable SBT.
So if anyone has any ideas i would apreciate it.

Thanks

Been there done that but no AAM disable option in Sea tools program.
I finaly got the IBMTool utility which can disable Automatic Acoustc Management no matter the brand of your HDD.

Thanks
