I bought my motherboard back in June (about half a year ago). Since then, the Athlon XP processors have been released. I want to know if my motherboard will support it.
My motherboard is an FIC AD11. According to the FIC website, it supports the Athlon XP's up to 1800+. Since I got my motherboard so long ago, will I have to update the BIOS or something or will it just take the processor?

from FIC's website...
Processor
AMD Duron™ Socket A 600~950MHz@200MHz FSB
AMD Athlon™ Socket A 700MHz~1.4GHz@200MHz FSB
AMD Athlon™ Socket A 1GHz~1.4GHz@266MHz FSB
AMD Athlon™ XP Socket A 1500+~1800+@266MHz FSB
Which tells me, out of the box, it supports the XP proc up to 1800. Hoever, the XP 2000 is out, so you will need to update the bios to support that chip, if you buy it.

I don't think you understand. I bought it the motherboard many months before the Athlon XP's were released. When I bought it, there was no mention of any kind of support for the Athlon XP on the website. I want to know if they had to change the BIOS or something to make it support the Athlon XP's, or if my motherboard will just accept it now.
