I heard that Abit mobos dont support soundblasters, is that true? Because I've been wanting to get an Abit mobo but since i heard this i dunno what to get.

I haven't heard that before. Can't see why a motherboard would care what you plug into it's slots.

I have an Abit-KG7, and it does _not_ like the SB Live! 5.1 I have plugged into it, although with much fiddling :D I was able to flog it into working. Check out http://www.viahardware.com for good faqs which contain compatibility lists for some Abit motherboards.

Good Luck.

I have the P4 Abit BW7 (Intel chipset) mobo. I installed the Sound Blaster 5.1, disabled the on-board audio, and it worked great first crack outa the barrel. Running W2K.
