Scandisk fix problem

Hi, I'm in desperate need for help with my harddisk. A little history on what happened, installed winXP but had to format that. Then tried to install winME. While installing scandisk says something's wrong with my secondary slave (Quantum Fireball KA) which I have some data on it which I wanted to keep. So I ran the scandisk fix and now I can't access my slave. Windows says it unformated and asks if I want to format everytime I double click on it. Does anyone know what I can do to salvage the information I have in there?:mad: :mad:

did you format your slave drive under XP?....if so...that may be your problem right there since XP is quite different from ME

Nope. I had this slave drive under win98, winME and winXP. Only during installation of winME from winXP did scandisk(You know whenever you try to install a fresh windows OS, there's always a first routine scandisk?) ask me to fix my slave.
