Hi all, i made many custom PC's in the past about 10 or so not to high end but didn't make one since P4 came out, i got a call from a old client and he needs a P4 (about 1.9)only system high end style for Graphics use and with the prices today it wont cost more then $1,400 or so for parts that i looked at, i have few things that i don't know of

1:To get a i850 or DDR 333 chipset for max speed

2:if i850 what is best board to buy? if 333 then what to get? i like to have raid n no audio

3:if i get raid board do i need a raid h.d? can i use the Seagate ST380021A - 80.0GB, 7200RPM?

I like this setup

P4 1.9ghz
Abit TH7II-RAID
Seagate ST380021A - 80.0GB, 7200RPM
Samsung RAMBUS 256MB, PC800 two (512)
RADEON 8500
Ricoh RW7200A 20X10X40 EIDE Internal CD-RW Drive
Pioneer 16x DVD

Stick with the rambus if you want to use the pentium 4, and to my knowledge, the best P4 board about at the minute with onboard RAID is the Gigabyte 8ITXR, which suppord RDRAM too.

Buy the way though if you want a raid you need at least TWO drives, so you might want to look into the RAID area of your setup a little more before you take that root.

I also would say to stick with Rdram
I think it out perfomres ddr when together with the P4.
If you want raid. Get 2 40GB 7200rpm HD
