Hi,
Is it ok to use thermal gel (silver) on a volcano 6cu+ (has copper pad)? I recall some old plumbing mistake of mine so I thought I would ask :p

you should always use Themal Gel (i.e. Artic Silver II). This should be applied thinly before installing any heatsink/fan (also mboard heatsink, GPU heatsink).

yepper not only is it ok, its *highly* reccomended.
arctic silver II if youve got any.

Went ahead and did it and got a 10 degree C drop. Not bad for a .005 cents worth of gunk :)
