I saw that Rambus price has come way down in price and was wondering which people would favor if the price was the same ????
Price watch has 128MB 711 MHZ RDRAM for $119

NO COMPARISON. DDR ram all the way. Even if Rambus was cheaper you couldn't get me to buy it.

Is there a technical problem I'm not aware of ??
I think a thunderbird with rambus would be a pretty good match.

hehe. Rambus is currently Intel only. And I'm sure it's going to stay that way. You will find NO motherboards that support AMD CPUs and Rambus memory.
And the truth is, even Intel wants to dump Rambus but they're locked into an agreement with them.

Rambus capabilities are revealed when they are paired with Pentium IV (because of the quad-pumped 400mhz bus), the memory speed is at least twice that of the DDR. As shown my tests using SiSoft Sandra Memory Bandwidth FPU/CPU. Check out the benchmarks on... http://www.sharkyextreme.com/hardware/guides/pentium4/8.shtml
