Just recently I have begun to have problems shutting down my computer. When I go to "start"....."shutdown"....and then hit "ok" it gives me a blue screen that reads the following:

Windows
A fatal exception OD has occurred at 032F:00002D24. The current application will be terminated.

Then I have to press any key and then ctrl-alt-delete to restart my computer. I tried running scandisk "standard" and I also cleaned out my temp files and defragged but I am still only able to shut off my computer by holding in the power button. Everything else works as normal........any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You probably have some background program that windows can't close out prior to shut down. You have to find that program and uninstall it. Firstly, go to ctrl panel ,sounds and delete windows exit sound. This is oftentimes the culprit. If not this, then try hitting ctrl-alt-del and closing down each program (except systray and explorer) at a time and then shut down in order to isolate the offending program. If this doesn't help then go to your windows help and go through the troubleshooter for startup and shutdown problems .
